Who doesn’t want to enjoy beautiful snow-capped peaks and snow-covered rolling hills during winters? Undoubtedly, winters come with all their mesmerizing beauty that no one resists enjoying. Not only does nature show you a different hue of its beauty, but you can also have a variety of winter foods and vegetables.  People have their reason to like particular weather, as some like summers due to longer and brighter days and some like winters to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in a warm and cozy room.  India has a unique feature of having extremes of both seasons, the winters and the summers. During Winters, places in the Northern part of India are replete not only with scenic beauty but also provide opportunities to the visitors to participate in winter sports. Here are a few suggestions where you can spend your winters most excitingly:

Manali or Rohtang Pass:

Located in Himachal Pradesh, Manali and Rohtang Pass are visited together by nature lovers. If one wants to enjoy fresh and soft snow, he should visit Manali during winters, i.e., January and February or in later months it will become hard and dirty. Many adventure activities such as skiing, trekking, and mountaineering are also carried out here. It is highly recommended that travel should be avoided during the Monsoon season.

Shimla the Hill Queen

The most-loved hill station is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and used to be the summer capital of the British Raj.  The best time to visit Shimla is mid-December to January when one can witness intermittent snowfall. The near-by places such as Kufri, Narkanda, Mashobra, Rohru, Naldehra are also worth seeing. The Jakhoo peak in Shimla is the highest point that receives maximum snowfall.

Mussoorie Hill Station

Mussoorie:

‘The Queen of hills’ Mussoorie is located in the Dehradun district in Uttarakhand. The snowfall in Mussoorie starts from mid-December and continues till January or even longer. You will be amazed to see snow blankets on the rooftops, streets, lanes, hills, and even on the vehicles. Gulmarg:

Gulmarg is a paradise for snow adventurers. It is famous as the best skiing destination in India. The rolling hills and carpeted snow make it perfect for skiing. The Gulmarg Gondolas, the highest and longest cable car is another temptation for the tourists. The best time to visit Gulmarg is mid-January to late February when you can enjoy skiing best.

Almora:

It is a jewel in bewitching sceneries, people who have experienced it can tell the wonders of its natural beauty. It is full of foggy hilltops and pleasant weather, trek routes, and snowfall. Weather is usually chilly in winters that start from November and last till February and sometimes you can experience snowfall as well. Apart from these places, Auli, Dhanaulti, Narkanda, Sonmarg, Pahalgam, etc are the places worth visiting during winters.
