A conservatorship is a kind of adult guardianship in the United States which is given to another family member to be in charge of the conservatee. It is granted by the court for individuals who are unable to make their own decisions due to dementia or some mental illness. Conservatorship is intended to protect individuals who are not able to look after themselves, their interests, finances, living arrangements, medical care, and general well-being.

The reason why Britney fell into conservatorship

In 2008, Jamie Spears filed for conservatorship over Bitney due to an incident when she refused to give her children of ex-husband to the representatives, she was taken to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation in the middle of the night. Later, police found out that she was under the influence of an unknown substance and the drug addiction and mental issues were also suspected. After the incident, she had no longer the custody of her children. Seeing such a situation, Jamie Spears took the conservatorship over Britney, since then Britney has no right to make decisions of her life.
