Since the petrol and diesel prices have gone high, people began to think about other options. They witnessed a record high before they were cut down sharply during Diwali. The Centre decided to reduce the excise duty on them, and auto fuel prices dropped by Rs 5 and Rs 10. States also reduced VAT which gave a great respite to common after struggling with high fuel prices. In India, Petrol cars are cheaper than diesel cars diesel is considered to be the most economic fuel for cars but it is more polluting than petrol cars. With these issues, people go for a petrol car with a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) kit fitted.

Petrol and Diesel cars have their advantages, as the maintenance of diesel cars is easier than petrol cars and its resale value is higher than the petrol cars, however, the petrol engine remains more efficient longer than the diesel engine. Less noise pollution: CNG-fuelled vehicles produce less smoke, odour, and noise pollution. Major cities in India have shown a significant reduction in noise pollution due to the active use of CNG fuel.

Environment-friendly: Compressed Natural Gas is the cleanest burning fuel these days. The CNG vehicles produce the fewest emissions of any motor fuel.  

Dual-fuel car: The major advantage of a CNG car is that it is a dual-fuel car, that can run on both petrol and CNG.

CNG vehicles have many advantages, but it has some drawbacks too. These are the precautions you have to take while using it:

• Always buy a CNG car with a company-fitted CNG kit or buying it from a local dealer may sometimes lead to leakage or damage to the car.
• Make sure the cylinder and the fuel lines are of high quality and manufactured according to industry standards. The kit should be compatible with the components of the car.
• Starting on petrol and switching to CNG mode after a few minutes will give longevity to your engine life.
