Get your itinerary ready:

Get a clear idea of the route you are going to take, pre-book hotels where you want to make a stop. Although there is GPS available, it is always a good idea to carry the map as the GPS may sometimes not work. Marking the stopovers and checking directions beforehand is always good, you can take alternate way if you have prior information about any traffic disruption.

Give a thorough check to your car:

Whether you are confident that everything is fine with your car, it is always a good idea to take it to an authorized service center to get a general check-up done for any leakages, damages, clutch, accelerator, and brakes. It ensures that everything is in a good condition of it something needs to get fixed, you can do it before leaving.

Check all documents:

The basic documents consist of driver’s license, registration (RC), pollution Check, and the latest certificate of insurance. Keep them all handy before starting your journey so that you can have a hassle-free journey.

Emergency Kit:

A first-aid kit is handy in case of an emergency. For daily use, you can have a basic first aid kit but you are planning for a long road trip, you should carry more emergency items. For your safety and others’, a tool check is a must.

Make sure that the vehicle body jack is in working condition and your tool kit consists of all essentials- a set of open-end spanners, reversible screwdriver, a pair of pliers, and a torch.

Other than these, carrying a set of drive belts, hose pipes, electrical wire pieces, insulation tape, and coolant will be helpful.

The main advantage of carrying these tools is that even though you do not know how to use them, having them available will help roadside mechanics to fix the problem in case of emergency.
